This session's emphasis is longsword, as it appears in the published works of Joachim Meyer (ca. 1537–1571), a Freifechter (Free Fencer) who lived in Strasbourg in the 16th century. The study group is led by founder, head instructor, and president, Scott MacDonald. Scott holds the rank of Fechter in both Longsword and Dussack. Requirements - 2 months of previous historical fencing experience, with a focus on longsword.</p>Safeway Driver's Educationhttp://fridley.ce.eleyo.com/course/3293/spring-summer-24/safeway-driver-s-education2023-10-05T00:00:00-05:00<p>Parents/guardians will be required to complete Safeway's Account Verification. Safeway will be sending out an email before class begins that gives detailed information about how to login to the student's Safeway account to verify and complete contact information and to review and acknowledge our Service Agreement.</p><p><strong>Classroom training</strong> can be taken by students who are 14-1/2 years or older and consists of 10 three-hour lessons. Each lesson is independent and can be taken in any order. If a lesson is missed, the student can make it up when and where it is convenient at a Safeway classroom or contact Safeway for more information. Pick-up and drop-off is at home, school or work. Training is done in a white late-model car with Safeway’s “Student Driver” graphics.</p><p>Classroom training and Behind-the-wheel training are included in the full cost of $385. </p><p>Classroom training only payment option is $215, and Safeway collects $170 during the behind the wheel lessons. </p><p>Safeway Driving School was selected by Fridley Community Education to provide teen driver’s education. Safeway is the largest driving school in Minnesota. It has an A+ rating with BBB and is a BBB Accredited Business. Vietnamese spring rolls follow made with pork, chicken, and glass noodles stuffed in rice paper, fried crispy, and served with the classic nuoc cham for dipping. You'll then prepare Pad Thai blending the vibrant flavors of Thailand with rice noodles using chicken, eggs, chilies, garlic, basil, scallions, bean sprouts, sesame oil, lemon and crushed red pepper flakes. We’ll begin with tender scones riddled with fresh berries and white chocolate. The quintessential fresh fruit salad follows with a delightful sauce for dipping. Featured are both crab cakes with basil aioli and coconut shrimp with a zippy marmalade. You’ll learn to prepare quiche using a delicious combination of veggies, meats and cheeses baked in a flaky pastry crust along. Also, a twist on eggs benedict stacking, poached eggs on brioche with black forest ham and velvety hollandaise sauce. French toast finishes this extravaganza using fresh baked croissants soaked in a rich bath of custard, sautéed to a honey brown crispness and topped with pure maple syrup and fresh whipped cream.</p>Let's Probate an Actual Minnesota Estatehttp://fridley.ce.eleyo.com/course/3323/spring-summer-24/let-s-probate-an-actual-minnesota-estate2023-12-20T00:00:00-06:00<p>In this class, we will walk through an actual Minnesota Probate Estate from the filing of the Application for Probate to the Final Accounts and all the steps in between. Class participants will learn the entire process including:</p><ul>
<li>current form, court and filing requirements</li>
<li>accounting and procedural steps</li>
<li>procedures for the sale and distribution of estate assets</li>
</ul><p>We will also discuss the roles, responsibilities, and liabilities of a person who is appointed as the Executor/Personal Representative. The class will be filled with real-life examples and solutions to the multitude of issues involving a typical (or not typical) Minnesota Probate Estate. Bring your questions.</p>My Little Horse Camphttp://fridley.ce.eleyo.com/course/3341/spring-summer-24/my-little-horse-camp2023-12-01T09:00:00-06:00<p>This 2 hour camp is designed for adults and children, ages 2-5. Campers will get to ride a real horse in an arena, meet a number of different horses at Boulder Pointe and learn how to groom the horses...all with a focus on safety! In addition, students will do an art project and have an opportunity to make horse treats to feed their new friends. Stations are split into 15 minute intervals to keep everyone engaged. Parents have the opportunity to lead their child on the horse and take photographs as they go. Camps are held rain or shine and parent/guardian is expected to remain with their child during the entire duration of the camp.</p>
