Korean Sword (Haedong Kumdo)
This program is open to ages 12 years old and up or those with permission from the instructor. It utilizes the sword to help students with personal development and leadership skills. It focuses on patterns, fighting drills and target cutting. It is NOT a sport version.

Historical Martial Arts - Longsword: Advanced
This class is an ongoing Intermediate to Advanced study of the Longsword in both sport and combat techniques as taught in the published works of 16th century fencing master Joachim Meyer (1537–1571) and other related historical texts. This is a hand's on (i.e. - "sword in hand") type of class with some limited academic discussion for context and relevance. Prior Longsword experience is required.Minimum requirements are:* HEMA rated Fencing mask (students/attendees must provide their own protective equipment)* 4+ months of prior Longsword training and/or completion of the Longsword Foundations I class.Instructors are provided by the St. Paul Freifechter, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to the study and practice of Historical Martial Arts.For questions - contact SGCoordinator@stpaulff.com

You'll begin by preparing delicious egg rolls stuffed with pork, shrimp and vegetables served with both hot mustard and sweet and sour sauce for dipping. You'll then prepare fried rice using chicken, shrimp, fresh vegetables, and the secret sauce. Classic pork chow mein follows served with crispy egg noodles along with egg foo young made with both, chicken and shrimp. We’ll finish this extravaganza with a delightful lemon custard tort.

Defensive Driving (55+)
If you have successfully completed a state-approved 8-hour defensive driving course you are eligible to take a 4-hour defensive driving course to renew your insurance certificate. Improve your driving skills, and if you're 55 or older, get a 10% discount on your personal auto insurance. The Defensive Driving Course teaches basic crash prevention techniques and has a proven record of reducing traffic violations and incidents. It's taught by experienced, professional traffic safety instructors, including current and former law enforcement. The class consists of lecture, films and discussions.

Begins with a consistent, foolproof dough that can be prepared weeks in advance. Stromboli filled with chicken, broccoli, sundried tomatoes and herb cheese with a zesty sauce for dipping. Pizza components may include, and are not limited to, BBQ chicken, basil pesto, margarita, reuben, taco, buffalo chicken, BLT, pastrami and swiss, chicken club, puttanesca, cheeseburger, chicken caesar, ham & pineapple, sausage and peperoni. In addition, you’ll learn the art of pasta preparation featuring “Spaghetti Napolitana”, with olive oil, ripe roma tomatoes, basil, garlic, and fresh grated cheeses. We'll finish with "Zuppa Inglese", layers of citrus soaked pound cake, rich Italian custard, chocolate ganache and sweet cherry preserves.

It continues the training program allowing the student to work toward their black belt ranks. The curriculum continues to develop the student's knowledge and self defense. You'll begin by preparing Vietnamese summer rolls served with both hoisin and peanut sauce for dipping. Vietnamese spring rolls follow with pork, shrimp, and glass noodles stuffed in rice paper and fried to a golden brown, served with the classic nuoc cham dipping sauce. You'll then prepare Pad Thai, blending the vibrant flavors of Thailand with rice noodles using shrimp, eggs, chilies, garlic, basil, scallions, bean sprouts, sesame oil, lemon and crushed red pepper flakes. For dessert, Thai lime custard topped with fresh whipped cream.

In this class we will learn the answers to: What are the roles and responsibilities of these people? How long do they serve and how much of a time commitment are we asking? How much guidance can we give them? Who makes an ideal selection for each of these vastly different roles? Who makes a bad selection for these roles? What pitfalls and problems should we be aware of? These jobs include: Attorney-In-Fact, Health Care Agent, Estate Executor, Trustee, Guardian and more. All are vastly different jobs that benefit you and they deserve careful thought. This class encourages questions. We will provide the answers.

This class will discuss how to properly protect your assets and provide for the future benefit of the loved one with special needs. Whatever the type of the asset (tangible, income producing or other) there are options you should know. We will discuss how the special needs trust fits into your estate planning, planning for the future of your loved one with special needs, and pros and cons of a special needs trust. *This class will be held online via Zoom.
