Historical Martial Arts - Longsword
St. Paul Freifechter is a non-profit (501c3) organization dedicated to the study and practice of Historical Martial Arts. This session's emphasis is longsword, as it appears in the published works of Joachim Meyer (ca. 1537–1571), a Freifechter (Free Fencer) who lived in Strasbourg in the 16th century. The study group is led by founder, head instructor, and president, Scott MacDonald. Scott holds the rank of Fechter in both Longsword and Dussack. Requirements - 2 months of previous historical fencing experience, with a focus on longsword.

Beginning SCUBA Diving (Ages 12 & up)
Are you tired of a two-dimensional life? Do you wish you could be weightless? Have you ever dreamed of breathing underwater? If so, Beginning SCUBA Diving is for you! This six-week class will provide all the technical, safety and skills knowledge to begin you SCUBA journey. Each class will include instruction on the physics, safety, and skills of SCUBA diving as well as time in the pool experiencing weightlessness and breathing underwater. Once this class is completed five open water dives with the instructor are all that stand in your way from full Open Water SCUBA Certification. Once this certification is achieved you can SCUBA dive anywhere in the world. Come experience the wonder of SCUBA diving.

3D Printing: Jewelry and Wearables (Gr. 4-8)
Science & Engineering
3D Printing introduces students to a new world of possibilities! This class is for students who have no or limited experience with 3D Printing and is ideal for students who like to draw, design and see their creations come to life. Students will learn the ropes of 3D modeling and printing using Tinkercad to design their jewelry or wearables creations from scratch, 2 of which they get to print and take home. To allow everyone to print their creations, items may have to be scaled down to allow printing during class times. Students must be comfortable with using a laptop and mouse to design their creations.

3D Printing and Minecraft are 2 of the most exciting things around. This class is for students who have no or limited experience with 3D Printing and is ideal for students who like to draw, design and see their creations come to life. They will use Tinkercad to design basic Minecraft creations from scratch using the Engineering Design Process, and choose 2 to print in class to take home. Camp Invention’s new program, Illuminate, is an inspiring, weeklong summer experience that provides opportunities for open-ended, hands-on exploration of science, technology, engineering and more for students in K-6th grade. Campers take on a variety of exhilarating activities each day, have fun collaborating with friends, think creatively and invent their own solutions to real-world challenges. The all-new 2024 program will spark the imagination of new campers with an adventure full of inspiration, innovation and unforgettable discoveries! During this action-packed, confidence-boosting program, young innovators will: Develop their own sports ball and customize a light-up game with a unique brand and logo as they explore athletics, design and innovation Discover the science of light through illuminating inventions and fluorescent animals, then build a one-of-a-kind Glow Box using circuitry and ultraviolet light Embark on an epic global operation to tackle water challenges around the world, learning the role that water plays with the help of a robotic lab-on-wheels Star as a contestant on a prototyping game show, molding and shaping ideas into awesome inventions using everyday items and a DIY toolbox

On the last day, we'll have a pajama party and enjoy some fancy s'mores!

JR Digging for Dinos Camp (Gr. K-3)

There has been an amazing discovery! Paleontologists have just uncovered a million-year-old dig site that is full of fossils! These fossils include dinosaur bones, imprints, eggs, and more! Your help is needed to excavate these fossils and move them to museums for kids all over the world to learn about. In these lessons, students will learn about engineering, mathematics, dinosaurs and fossils as they work as paleontologists and engineers.
