Home Alone Camp (Grades 2+)
Is your child ready for the independence of being home alone? Parents need to be sure their children have the skills and maturity to handle the responsibility safely. Whether it is for an hour after school or several hours a day during the summer, being trusted to be home alone can be a positive experience for a mature and well-prepared child. This class for children will address several topics relating to being “Home Alone,” including age guidelines, safe habits, house rules, after school routines, phone calls and door knocks, dog emergencies, personal safety, handling the unexpected, gun safety, severe weather, fire safety, intruders and first aid tips. Students attend this class independently and should come prepared with a notebook and pen. Parents are encouraged to review the take-home information and discuss it with their child.

Historical Martial Arts - Longsword: Advanced
This class is an ongoing Intermediate to Advanced study of the Longsword in both sport and combat techniques as taught in the published works of 16th century fencing master Joachim Meyer (1537–1571) and other related historical texts. This is a hand's on (i.e. - "sword in hand") type of class with some limited academic discussion for context and relevance. Prior Longsword experience is required.Minimum requirements are:* HEMA rated Fencing mask (students/attendees must provide their own protective equipment)* 4+ months of prior Longsword training and/or completion of the Longsword Foundations I class.Instructors are provided by the St. Paul Freifechter, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to the study and practice of Historical Martial Arts.For questions - contact SGCoordinator@stpaulff.com

3-Day Horse Camp for Children (6-15)

Experience a mini-week long camp! Campers will get to experience everyday life at a barn! Life in the barn will include activities such as; daily riding, learning how to braid manes and tails with ribbon, groom and care for the horses (including bathing) and feed them at the end of the day. This is a great time for campers to spend time outdoors and build lasting friendships with fellow horse lovers in a structured and positive environment. Campers are broken into smaller groups of similar riding experience, which is perfect for both the new and more experienced riders. Please note that riding takes about 1 hour per day in an arena, no trails and consist of learning to how to steer, stop, turn, and walk/trot on their own. Campers will spend time on the ground with horses throughout the rest of the day. Please note: Campers need to bring sunscreen/hat/bug spray, a lunch, snacks, and plenty to drink. Long pants, closed toe shoes, and appropriate clothes for weather inside or outside recommended. Drop-off is at 9am and pickup is 3pm.

The Child and Babysitting Safety (CABS) program from the American Safety and Health Institute gives everything you need to know for safe and successful babysitting. The YouTube “vlogger” style presentation of the video brings a youthful and high-energy spirit to the program content, and the colorful magazine format of the student book makes learning fun. From getting started with your business, to working with parents and children, to key safety, caregiving, and first aid tips, CABS will help set you up for babysitting success. Students must be present for the entire class and complete achievement of the core learning objectives to receive certification valid for two years. Students attend this class independently and should come prepared with a notebook and pen.

Hey Girl Summer Camp (Ages 10-13)

Join the Hey Girl! Mentor Program – A Summer of Growth, Leadership & Empowerment! The Hey Girl! This Mentor Program is for girls ages 10-13 who are ready to embrace their unique personalities and tackle the challenges of adolescence with confidence. This fun and engaging program will help build self-confidence, empower young girls, and teach essential leadership and responsibility skills. Through team-building activities, self-learning, and discussions about handling life as a young adult, we create an environment where girls can thrive! Horse Back Riding Single Day Camp

Kids will learn what it's like to have a horse for a day! Campers get to ride in the indoor and/or outdoor arenas for 40min-50min (no trails), practice how to steer, stop, turn, and walk on their own. They also might make horse treats, do a craft, and play games. And don't forget the time to meet and care for the horses, which is a big part of ownership! Campers are broken into smaller groups based on similar riding experience and age, which is perfect for both new and more experienced riders! Parent/guardian required to drop off and pick up at Boulder Pointe. For ages 6-17 years old. What to bring? long pants, closed-toed shoes, appropriate clothes for weather inside and outside of barn. No Flip Flops. water bottle/drink/snacks and a lunch sunscreen/bug spray and/or hat depending on weather helmets are provided

My Little Horse Camp

This 2 hour camp is designed for adults and children, ages 2-5. Campers will get to ride a real horse in an arena, meet a number of different horses at Boulder Pointe and learn how to groom the horses...all with a focus on safety! In addition, students will do an art project and have an opportunity to make horse treats to feed their new friends. Stations are split into 15 minute intervals to keep everyone engaged. Parents have the opportunity to lead their child on the horse and take photographs as they go. Camps are held rain or shine and parent/guardian is expected to remain with their child during the entire duration of the camp.

Safeway Driver's Education

Parents/guardians will be required to complete Safeway's Account Verification. Safeway will be sending out an email before class begins that gives detailed information about how to login to the student's Safeway account to verify and complete contact information and to review and acknowledge our Service Agreement. Classroom training can be taken by students who are 14-1/2 years or older and consists of 10 three-hour lessons. Each lesson is independent and can be taken in any order. If a lesson is missed, the student can make it up when and where it is convenient at a Safeway classroom or contact Safeway for more information. Lesson calendars are available on Safeway’s web site. Safewaydrivingschool.com Behind-the-wheel training consists of 3 two-hour private lessons which can be scheduled online or by calling Safeway’s office (651-351-9150). Pick-up and drop-off is at home, school or work. Training is done in a white late-model car with Safeway’s “Student Driver” graphics. Classroom training and Behind-the-wheel training are included in the full cost of $414 (this includes $49 community education registration fee). Classroom training only payment option is $234 (this includes $49 community education registration), and Safeway collects $170 during the behind the wheel lessons. Safeway Driving School was selected by Fridley Community Education to provide teen driver’s education. Safeway is the largest driving school in Minnesota. It has an A+ rating with BBB and is a BBB Accredited Business. Safeway has 70 experienced instructors background checked and licensed by the MN Dept. of Public Safety. Scholarship assistance note: The typical scholarship assistance is to waive the $49 Community Education fee assistance cost. Safeway driving school also has a payment plan. Fill out this form if you have a need for community education to waive the registration fee or if you need additional assistance. See below for the following example. Campers will spend time on the ground with horses throughout the rest of the day. Please note: Campers need to bring sunscreen/hat/bug spray, a lunch, snacks, and plenty to drink. Long pants, closed toe shoes, and appropriate clothes for weather inside or outside recommended. Drop-off is at 9am and pickup is 3pm each day Monday through Friday. Sorry we do not allow parents to stay for the day. However there is a “show” for the parents Fridays of weeklong camps at 1:30pm! This is a great time to take pictures, watch your child ride and meet their horse they worked during the week.
