The program is for students that are entering 9th grade up to having just graduated from high school in the current year who are passionate about singing, dancing and performing. Students will learn music, dialogue and choreography for a staged production with set, lights and costumes. Whether you’re a seasoned performer or new to musical theater, this program will help you grow as an artist and gain valuable stage experience in a supportive and creative environment.Everyone who enrolls will perform on stage. Rehearsals will be from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm from June 11 - June 27, M-F, with no rehearsal on June 19. The performances will be on June 27 at 7:00 pm and June 28 at 7:00 pm. Participants will need to audition for cast roles on either Wednesday, May 14 or Thursday May 15 from 4 to 6 pm.Please bring a snack, pencil and water bottle to each rehearsal. Attendance is expected at every rehearsal. Due to the small number of rehearsals, missing any of them will hurt the students’ performance and hinder the momentum of the production for the rest of the participants. Performers are also expected to be involved with strike for about 90 minutes after the last performance.Do not sign up for the program if you will be attending any other camp, activity or vacation. Medical appointments must be scheduled for periods outside of rehearsal. If you anticipate any absence, please contact jjjohnson@isd14.org or wold@isd14.org to ensure that your plans do not conflict with the needs of the production. Absences will affect casting of roles.
