Home Alone Camp (Grades 2+)
Is your child ready for the independence of being home alone? Parents need to be sure their children have the skills and maturity to handle the responsibility safely. Whether it is for an hour after school or several hours a day during the summer, being trusted to be home alone can be a positive experience for a mature and well-prepared child. This class for children will address several topics relating to being “Home Alone,” including age guidelines, safe habits, house rules, after school routines, phone calls and door knocks, dog emergencies, personal safety, handling the unexpected, gun safety, severe weather, fire safety, intruders and first aid tips. Students attend this class independently and should come prepared with a notebook and pen. Parents are encouraged to review the take-home information and discuss it with their child.

Historical Martial Arts - Longsword: Advanced
This class is an ongoing Intermediate to Advanced study of the Longsword in both sport and combat techniques as taught in the published works of 16th century fencing master Joachim Meyer (1537–1571) and other related historical texts. This is a hand's on (i.e. - "sword in hand") type of class with some limited academic discussion for context and relevance. 3-Day Horse Camp for Children (6-15)

Experience a mini-week long camp! Campers will get to experience everyday life at a barn! Life in the barn will include activities such as; daily riding, learning how to braid manes and tails with ribbon, groom and care for the horses (including bathing) and feed them at the end of the day. This is a great time for campers to spend time outdoors and build lasting friendships with fellow horse lovers in a structured and positive environment. Campers are broken into smaller groups of similar riding experience, which is perfect for both the new and more experienced riders. Please note that riding takes about 1 hour per day in an arena, no trails and consist of learning to how to steer, stop, turn, and walk/trot on their own. Campers will spend time on the ground with horses throughout the rest of the day. Please note: Campers need to bring sunscreen/hat/bug spray, a lunch, snacks, and plenty to drink. Long pants, closed toe shoes, and appropriate clothes for weather inside or outside recommended. Drop-off is at 9am and pickup is 3pm.

3D Printing: Build your own Robot

Step into the world of 3D printing and bring your ideas to life! This class is perfect for beginners who love to draw, design, and see their creations take shape. Students will learn the basics of 3D modeling and printing using Tinkercad, designing custom parts for their very own robots. By the end of the week, they’ll have built two exciting DC-powered robots—a sketchbot and a drive bot. This hands-on course encourages creativity and problem-solving, and students will need to be comfortable using a laptop and mouse to design their robots.

Step into a world of magic and innovation with 3D printing! This class is perfect for students with little to no experience in 3D printing and is ideal for those who love to draw, design, and see their creations come to life. Students will explore the basics of 3D modeling and printing using Tinkercad, creating magical designs inspired by the Harry Potter series. From wands to wizarding tools, they’ll craft their own creations from scratch, printing and taking home two of their favorite designs. To ensure everyone can bring their magic to life, some creations may be scaled down for printing during class. Students should be comfortable using a laptop and mouse to design their enchanted projects!

The Child and Babysitting Safety (CABS) program from the American Safety and Health Institute gives everything you need to know for safe and successful babysitting. The YouTube “vlogger” style presentation of the video brings a youthful and high-energy spirit to the program content, and the colorful magazine format of the student book makes learning fun. From getting started with your business, to working with parents and children, to key safety, caregiving, and first aid tips, CABS will help set you up for babysitting success. Students must be present for the entire class and complete achievement of the core learning objectives to receive certification valid for two years. Students attend this class independently and should come prepared with a notebook and pen.

Fridley Girls Summer Volleyball Camp (Grades 4-9)

This is a great introduction to begin and/or continue learning the game of volleyball. We will have varsity coaches, former players and guest coaches working the camp. This camp is designed to build on and/or teach the fundamentals that players will use as they advance. The skills covered will focus on what is needed to be successful in volleyball as well as learning more advanced skills needed for the next level. Students will also break off into ability groups and work on advanced skills as appropriate. Players should dress accordingly; tennis shoes, shorts, and a t-shirt (NO TANK TOPS!). Players should also bring a water bottle.

Join the Hey Girl! Mentor Program – A Summer of Growth, Leadership & Empowerment! The Hey Girl! This Mentor Program is for girls ages 10-13 who are ready to embrace their unique personalities and tackle the challenges of adolescence with confidence. This fun and engaging program will help build self-confidence, empower young girls, and teach essential leadership and responsibility skills. High School Musical Theatre Summer Intensive Experience

High School Musical Theatre Summer Intensive Experience performing the musical Chicago – Teen Edition. The program is for students that are entering 9th grade up to having just graduated from high school in the current year who are passionate about singing, dancing and performing. Students will learn music, dialogue and choreography for a staged production with set, lights and costumes. Whether you’re a seasoned performer or new to musical theater, this program will help you grow as an artist and gain valuable stage experience in a supportive and creative environment. Everyone who enrolls will perform on stage. Rehearsals will be from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm from June 11 - June 27, M-F, with no rehearsal on June 19. The performances will be on June 27 at 7:00 pm and June 28 at 7:00 pm. Participants will need to audition for cast roles on either Wednesday, May 14 or Thursday May 15 from 4 to 6 pm. Please bring a snack, pencil and water bottle to each rehearsal. Attendance is expected at every rehearsal. Due to the small number of rehearsals, missing any of them will hurt the students’ performance and hinder the momentum of the production for the rest of the participants. Performers are also expected to be involved with strike for about 90 minutes after the last performance. Do not sign up for the program if you will be attending any other camp, activity or vacation. Medical appointments must be scheduled for periods outside of rehearsal. If you anticipate any absence, please contact jjjohnson@isd14.org or wold@isd14.org to ensure that your plans do not conflict with the needs of the production. Absences will affect casting of roles.

Horse Back Riding Single Day Camp

Kids will learn what it's like to have a horse for a day! Campers get to ride in the indoor and/or outdoor arenas for 40min-50min (no trails), practice how to steer, stop, turn, and walk on their own. They also might make horse treats, do a craft, and play games. And don't forget the time to meet and care for the horses, which is a big part of ownership! Campers are broken into smaller groups based on similar riding experience and age, which is perfect for both new and more experienced riders! Parent/guardian required to drop off and pick up at Boulder Pointe. For ages 6-17 years old. What to bring? long pants, closed-toed shoes, appropriate clothes for weather inside and outside of barn. Welcome to Jr. Zoo Builders Camp, where budding engineers explore the amazing world of animal adaptations—one brick at a time! Each day, campers will dive into the science of survival, discovering how chameleons camouflage, how lobsters use their claws, and how camels thrive in desert heat. Through hands-on building, they’ll create models of each animal, learning how these unique features help them survive in their habitats. By the end of the week, campers will have built their own mini zoo, filled with creatures from around the world and the fascinating adaptations that keep them alive!

My Little Horse Camp

This 2 hour camp is designed for adults and children, ages 2-5. Campers will get to ride a real horse in an arena, meet a number of different horses at Boulder Pointe and learn how to groom the horses...all with a focus on safety! In addition, students will do an art project and have an opportunity to make horse treats to feed their new friends. Stations are split into 15 minute intervals to keep everyone engaged. Parents have the opportunity to lead their child on the horse and take photographs as they go. Camps are held rain or shine and parent/guardian is expected to remain with their child during the entire duration of the camp.

Pokémon Video Game Design Camp

In this hands-on camp, you’ll become a writer, artist, designer, and developer, all rolled into one, as you create your very own Pokémon-themed video game using Bloxels and a tablet. Safeway Driver's Education

Parents/guardians will be required to complete Safeway's Account Verification. Safeway will be sending out an email before class begins that gives detailed information about how to login to the student's Safeway account to verify and complete contact information and to review and acknowledge our Service Agreement. Classroom training can be taken by students who are 14-1/2 years or older and consists of 10 three-hour lessons. Each lesson is independent and can be taken in any order. If a lesson is missed, the student can make it up when and where it is convenient at a Safeway classroom or contact Safeway for more information. Lesson calendars are available on Safeway’s web site. Safewaydrivingschool.com Behind-the-wheel training consists of 3 two-hour private lessons which can be scheduled online or by calling Safeway’s office (651-351-9150). Pick-up and drop-off is at home, school or work. Training is done in a white late-model car with Safeway’s “Student Driver” graphics. Classroom training and Behind-the-wheel training are included in the full cost of $414 (this includes $49 community education registration fee). Classroom training only payment option is $234 (this includes $49 community education registration), and Safeway collects $170 during the behind the wheel lessons. Safeway Driving School was selected by Fridley Community Education to provide teen driver’s education. Safeway is the largest driving school in Minnesota. It has an A+ rating with BBB and is a BBB Accredited Business. Safeway has 70 experienced instructors background checked and licensed by the MN Dept. of Public Safety. Scholarship assistance note: The typical scholarship assistance is to waive the $49 Community Education fee assistance cost. Safeway driving school also has a payment plan. Fill out this form if you have a need for community education to waive the registration fee or if you need additional assistance. See below for the following example. Come join Fridley Varsity Girls’ Tennis Coach, Aaron Quach, for a challenging and fun camp! Compared to club prices, this program is a bargain. Aaron Quach is also a club professional instructor who will instruct students in all aspects of tennis from stroke improvement, agility and fitness to tennis match strategy. This camp will benefit both the beginner and accomplished tennis player. Bring a racket if you have one, if not we can supply one for use. Rainouts will not be rescheduled. If ever in doubt due to weather please call the Tennis Hotline: (763) 502-5112 – 30 minutes before class. No class on June 19 or the week of the 4th of July.

Sorry we do not allow parents to stay for the day. However there is a “show” for the parents Fridays of weeklong camps at 1:30pm! This is a great time to take pictures, watch your child ride and meet their horse they worked during the week.

Wizard's Escape Room Challenge

Get ready for an exciting adventure in the Wizard's Escape Room Challenge! This camp combines problem-solving, creativity, and teamwork as campers dive into thrilling escape room scenarios set in the magical realm. Each day begins with a new escape room experience, where teams must tackle engineering challenges and puzzles—such as designing enchanted locks, deciphering magical codes, or building contraptions to break free. In the second half of the day, campers will shift gears and explore the art of escape room design. Working in teams, they’ll design their own escape rooms, creating puzzles and challenges for others to solve. On the final day, teams will present their rooms and try to outsmart each other in this ultimate test of creativity and collaboration!
