Your instructor, a professional voice actor from Voices For All, will take notes as you read a real script in this one-on-one video chat setting, and offer some coaching to improve your delivery. You’ll receive a professional voiceover evaluation later in a follow up call. One-time, 90-minute, introductory class. 18 and over.   • Chicken Marsala vs. Chicken Limone

    Begins with bruschetta topped with fresh mozzarella cheese, vine ripened tomatoes, and sweet roasted bell pepper, sprinkled with fresh basil and drizzled with olive oil. You’ll prepare “Chicken Marsala” with fresh sauteed mushrooms in a sweet Marsala butter sauce. We’ll see how that measures up against “Chicken Limone” topped with a chardonnay butter sauce and capers. Both entrees are paired with "Spaghetti Aglio Olio", tender garden vegetables tossed with olive oil, garlic, and Romano cheese. We'll finish with "Diplomatico", a divine combination of rum and espresso soaked genoise, chocolate mouse and fresh whipped cream.

  • Defensive Driving Refresher

    If you have successfully completed a state-approved 8-hour defensive driving course you are eligible to take a 4-hour defensive driving course to renew your insurance certificate. Improve your driving skills, and if you're 55 or older, get a 10% discount on your personal auto insurance. The Defensive Driving Course teaches basic crash prevention techniques and has a proven record of reducing traffic violations and incidents. It's taught by experienced, professional traffic safety instructors, including current and former law enforcement. The class consists of lecture, films and discussions.

  • Historical Martial Arts - Longsword: Advanced

    This class is an ongoing Intermediate to Advanced study of the Longsword in both sport and combat techniques as taught in the published works of 16th century fencing master Joachim Meyer (1537–1571) and other related historical texts. This is a hand's on (i.e. - "sword in hand") type of class with some limited academic discussion for context and relevance. Prior Longsword experience is required. Minimum requirements are: * HEMA rated Fencing mask (students/attendees must provide their own protective equipment) * 4+ months of prior Longsword training and/or completion of the Longsword Foundations I class. Instructors are provided by the St. Paul Freifechter, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to the study and practice of Historical Martial Arts.     Improv & Storytelling Workshop (Ages 11+) with Michael Sielaff

    Join us for a beginner AND advanced-friendly improv and storytelling workshop with Fridley High School Class of 2004 graduate Michael Sielaff—a Los Angeles–based actor and teacher originally from Fridley. In this 3-hour workshop, you’ll build confidence, increase your ability for connection, and express your own individual creativity through short and long form improv and storytelling. Whether you're an actor or simply someone looking for a creative outlet, we got you covered. We’ll practice listening, going with your gut, developing characters, collaboration, and making bold choices through short form improv games. Building off of that, we will shift to long form improv and learn how to perform an Armando - a format that uses first-person stories to inspire scenes. Expect lots of movement, laughter, and support in a welcoming environment for all experience levels. What we’ll cover: Improv Foundations: agreement, listening, empathy, bring a brick not a cathedral Short Form Games: New Choice, Genre Replay, My Movie, Freeze Tag, & More!   • Longsword Foundations 1 (Ages 16 and up)

    Come learn the basics of fighting with the European Longsword - the same weapon you’ve seen used by people like Geralt, King Arthur, and many Knights throughout history. This class is based on the published works of fencing master Joachim Meyer of Strasbourg (1534-1571) and is taught by a team of instructors from the St. Paul Freifechter. During this 8-week class, you will learn: >The basic and foundational techniques of combat with the European Longsword >Common historical vocabulary and terminology for the principles and techniques. >How to be a competent and safe training and sparring partner. Requirements (i.e. - what *you* need to bring): Comfortable/athletic clothing , Comfortable shoes as each session is 2 hours "on your feet" , Fencing mask, Light leather work/gardening gloves What will be provided: Training swords for use during classes.
