    3-Day Horse Camp for Children (6-15)

    Experience a mini-week long camp! Campers will get to experience everyday life at a barn! Life in the barn will include activities such as; daily riding, learning how to braid manes and tails with ribbon, groom and care for the horses (including bathing) and feed them at the end of the day. This is a great time for campers to spend time outdoors and build lasting friendships with fellow horse lovers in a structured and positive environment. Campers are broken into smaller groups of similar riding experience, which is perfect for both the new and more experienced riders. Please note that riding takes about 1 hour per day in an arena, no trails and consist of learning to how to steer, stop, turn, and walk/trot on their own. Campers will spend time on the ground with horses throughout the rest of the day. Please note: Campers need to bring sunscreen/hat/bug spray, a lunch, snacks, and plenty to drink. Long pants, closed toe shoes, and appropriate clothes for weather inside or outside recommended. Drop-off is at 9am and pickup is 3pm.
  • 3D Printing: Jewelry and Wearables (Gr. 4-8)

    3D Printing introduces students to a new world of possibilities! This class is for students who have no or limited experience with 3D Printing and is ideal for students who like to draw, design and see their creations come to life. Students will learn the ropes of 3D modeling and printing using Tinkercad to design their jewelry or wearables creations from scratch, 2 of which they get to print and take home. To allow everyone to print their creations, items may have to be scaled down to allow printing during class times. Students must be comfortable with using a laptop and mouse to design their creations.

    3D Printing and Minecraft are 2 of the most exciting things around. This class is for students who have no or limited experience with 3D Printing and is ideal for students who like to draw, design and see their creations come to life.     A parent-child paint date is a fun and creative activity that allows parents and children to bond while exploring their artistic side together. In this type of class, parents and children work together to create a painting. The class is designed to be interactive and engaging, with the instructor providing step-by-step guidance on painting techniques and offering tips and tricks for parents and children to create a cohesive and beautiful painting.     The Child and Babysitting Safety (CABS) program from the American Safety and Health Institute gives everything you need to know for safe and successful babysitting. The YouTube “vlogger” style presentation of the video brings a youthful and high-energy spirit to the program content, and the colorful magazine format of the student book makes learning fun. From getting started with your business, to working with parents and children, to key safety, caregiving, and first aid tips, CABS will help set you up for babysitting success. Students must be present for the entire class and complete achievement of the core learning objectives to receive certification valid for two years. Students attend this class independently and should come prepared with a notebook and pen.

Rec Team members will learn the styles and techniques to develop their Ninja Skills with over 40 different obstacles!     The Ministry of Magic is inviting all aspiring wizards to this extraordinary camp. Each day, students participate in engineering challenges to earn points for their houses like creating the farthest-reaching Golden Snitch Launcher and the fastest Gringott Cart to reach the vaults. At the end of the week, the house with the most points is awarded the house cup, a great honor!
  • Fridley Girls Summer Volleyball Camp (Grades 4-9)

    This is a great introduction to begin and/or continue learning the game of volleyball. We will have varsity coaches, former players and guest coaches working the camp. This camp is designed to build on and/or teach the fundamentals that players will use as they advance. The skills covered will focus on what is needed to be successful in volleyball as well as learning more advanced skills needed for the next level. Students will also break off into ability groups and work on advanced skills as appropriate. Players should dress accordingly; tennis shoes, shorts, and a t-shirt (NO TANK TOPS!). Players should also bring a water bottle.
  • Future Tiger Basketball Camp (Grades K-4)

    This is a great introduction to begin and continue learning the game of basketball. Each student will learn the basic fundamentals of the game: Running, pivoting, passing, ball handling, catching, jumping, and shooting. There will be a lot of shooting and dribbling games along with games of 1 on 1 up to 4 on 4. The High School Boys' and Girls' Varsity Coaches, Bryce Richter and Drew Reiter along with assistant coaches will run camp along with current varsity players. Each student will receive a camp shirt and basketball prizes.

    Hey Girl (Growing, Independent, Responsible Leaders) is for girls ages 10-13. Hey Girl Provides a safe and fun space where girls can have freedom of expression. The girls will build long-lasting friendships and share similar experiences through daily group activities centered around leadership, communication and self-confidence.     Get into the Groove! Our Dance Classes will be sure to keep students active. Learn upbeat styles of dance and move to your favorite songs. The students will also learn warm-ups such as stretching, isolations and across the floor exercises! Come learn to leap, turn and shine. This class is not only fun but will improve posture, strength and flexibility in a positive and self-esteem building atmosphere. Ballet or jazz shoes are suggested.
  • Home Alone Camp (Grades 2+)

    Is your child ready for the independence of being home alone? Parents need to be sure their children have the skills and maturity to handle the responsibility safely. Whether it is for an hour after school or several hours a day during the summer, being trusted to be home alone can be a positive experience for a mature and well-prepared child. This class for children will address several topics relating to being “Home Alone,” including age guidelines, safe habits, house rules, after school routines, phone calls and door knocks, dog emergencies, personal safety, handling the unexpected, gun safety, severe weather, fire safety, intruders and first aid tips. Students attend this class independently and should come prepared with a notebook and pen. Parents are encouraged to review the take-home information and discuss it with their child.
  • Horse Back Riding Single Day Camp

    Kids will learn what it's like to have a horse for a day! Campers get to ride in the indoor and/or outdoor arenas for 40min-50min (no trails), practice how to steer, stop, turn, and walk on their own. They also might make horse treats, do a craft, and play games. And don't forget the time to meet and care for the horses, which is a big part of ownership!     There has been an amazing discovery! Paleontologists have just uncovered a million-year-old dig site that is full of fossils! These fossils include dinosaur bones, imprints, eggs, and more! Your help is needed to excavate these fossils and move them to museums for kids all over the world to learn about. In these lessons, students will learn about engineering, mathematics, dinosaurs and fossils as they work as paleontologists and engineers.

    My Little Horse Camp

    This 2 hour camp is designed for adults and children, ages 2-5. Campers will get to ride a real horse in an arena, meet a number of different horses at Boulder Pointe and learn how to groom the horses...all with a focus on safety! In addition, students will do an art project and have an opportunity to make horse treats to feed their new friends. Stations are split into 15 minute intervals to keep everyone engaged. Parents have the opportunity to lead their child on the horse and take photographs as they go. Camps are held rain or shine and parent/guardian is expected to remain with their child during the entire duration of the camp.

    Safeway Driver's Education

    Parents/guardians will be required to complete Safeway's Account Verification. Safeway will be sending out an email before class begins that gives detailed information about how to login to the student's Safeway account to verify and complete contact information and to review and acknowledge our Service Agreement. Classroom training can be taken by students who are 14-1/2 years or older and consists of 10 three-hour lessons. Each lesson is independent and can be taken in any order. If a lesson is missed, the student can make it up when and where it is convenient at a Safeway classroom or contact Safeway for more information. Lesson calendars are available on Safeway’s web site. Safewaydrivingschool.com Behind-the-wheel training consists of 3 two-hour private lessons which can be scheduled online or by calling Safeway’s office (651-351-9150). Pick-up and drop-off is at home, school or work. Training is done in a white late-model car with Safeway’s “Student Driver” graphics. Classroom training and Behind-the-wheel training are included in the full cost of $385. Classroom training only payment option is $215, and Safeway collects $170 during the behind the wheel lessons. Safeway Driving School was selected by Fridley Community Education to provide teen driver’s education. Safeway is the largest driving school in Minnesota. It has an A+ rating with BBB and is a BBB Accredited Business. Safeway has 70 experienced instructors background checked and licensed by the MN Dept. of Public Safety.
  • Seussical JR Fridley Community Theatre Youth Production (Ages 9-15)

    Students will learn music, dialogue and choreography for a fully staged production with set, lights and costumes. Everyone who enrolls will perform on stage. Rehearsals will be from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm June 10-June 28 M-F with no rehearsal on June 19. Performances will be June 28 at 7:00 pm and June 29 at 2:00 pm. Participants will need to audition for cast roles on either Friday, May 17 from 5-8 pm or Saturday, May 18 from 10 am to 1 pm. Expect to participate for the entire three hour period. Bring a water bottle and clothing appropriate for movement to the audition. No Flipflops. Signup information for auditions will be sent to all enrolled participants by the end of April. Please bring a snack, pencil and water bottle to each rehearsal. Attendance is expected at every rehearsal. Due to the small number of rehearsals, missing any of them will hurt the students performance and hinder the momentum of the production for the rest of the participants. Performers are also expected to be involved with strike for about 90 minutes after the last performance. Do not sign up for the program is you will be attending any other camp, activity or vacation. Medical appointments must be scheduled for periods outside of rehearsal. If you anticipate any absence, please contact Dan.Wold@Fridley.k12.mn.us to ensure that your plans do not conflict with the needs of the production. Absences will affect casting of roles.
