    Welcome to Fridley Preschool's Half Day program! Fridley Public Schools Primary Years Programme offers half day preschool programming for both 3 and 4-year-old children. Our 3-year-old half day programming is fee-based on a sliding scale. Our 4-year-old half day programming is offered at no cost to parents. These programs are located at the Fridley Community Center, offering a morning or afternoon session and follow the Fridley Public Schools district calendar. Fridley Preschool is the best start to your child's educational journey. Here at Fridley Public Schools, we focus on developing the whole child, and that starts with our districts earliest learners. Our preschool programs are designed to provide your child with the necessary learning experiences to prepare for Kindergarten. As an International Baccalaureate (IB) World Authorized school in the Primary Years Programme, your child will be a step ahead with our focus on the Successful Learner Equation and the holistic IB educational experience. When you choose Fridley, you are choosing an International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme, caring and nurturing teachers, a Parent Aware four-star rating, and a high quality & aligned curriculum. Tuition is charged monthly and is based on your households annual income (Sliding Scale Fee). There is a one-time, non refundable registration fee of $25.00 charged per registration request. You will receive a confirmation email once we've received your registration request, and again once your request has been ACCEPTED and you are officially enrolled. Your saved payment method WILL NOT be charged the Registration Fee until you are officially enrolled. Your first months tuition will not be due until the THURSDAY PRIOR to the start of the school year. In addition to completing this online registration, you are required to provide these additional documents in order to complete enrollment. Your enrollment will not be confirmed until the program has received these additional pieces. Once your preschool account has been set up you will be able to log-in anytime, anywhere to view account balances, manage AutoPay and payment methods, view current and past invoices, print annual tax statements, and manage your child's emergency contacts and authorized pick-ups. Please check your email regularly for any parent communications regarding your preschool account with us.   • Future Tiger Basketball Camp (Grades K-4)

    This is a great introduction to begin and continue learning the game of basketball. Each student will learn the basic fundamentals of the game: Running, pivoting, passing, ball handling, catching, jumping, and shooting. There will be a lot of shooting and dribbling games along with games of 1 on 1 up to 4 on 4. The High School Boys' and Girls' Varsity Coaches, Bryce Richter and Drew Reiter along with assistant coaches will run camp along with current varsity players. Each student will receive a camp shirt and basketball prizes.

    The Great Decisions Discussion Program is designed to encourage debate and discussion of the important global issues of our time. Developed by the Foreign Policy Association in 1954, the Great Decisions Discussion Program is the longest standing and largest grassroots world affairs educational program of its kind. The program provides materials that help people reach informed opinions on the issues and participate in the foreign policy process. A Briefing Book places the thematic or geographic issue in historical context and provides background, current policies and alternative policy options. Photographs, maps, charts and editorial cartoons illustrate the text. An opinion ballot for the National Opinion Ballot Report accompanies each topic so that readers can express their views.     Hey Girl (Growing, Independent, Responsible Leaders) is for girls ages 10-13. Hey Girl Provides a safe and fun space where girls can have freedom of expression. The girls will build long-lasting friendships and share similar experiences through daily group activities centered around leadership, communication and self-confidence. Hey Girl helps to explore and expand all possibilities while having fun and taking on responsibilities. Each participate will receive a journal book, T-shirt and club activity materials .     Get into the Groove! Our Dance Classes will be sure to keep students active. Learn upbeat styles of dance and move to your favorite songs. The students will also learn warm-ups such as stretching, isolations and across the floor exercises! Come learn to leap, turn and shine. This class is not only fun but will improve posture, strength and flexibility in a positive and self-esteem building atmosphere. Ballet or jazz shoes are suggested.
  • Historical Martial Arts - Longsword

    St. Paul Freifechter is a non-profit (501c3) organization dedicated to the study and practice of Historical Martial Arts. This session's emphasis is longsword, as it appears in the published works of Joachim Meyer (ca. 1537–1571), a Freifechter (Free Fencer) who lived in Strasbourg in the 16th century. The study group is led by founder, head instructor, and president, Scott MacDonald. Scott holds the rank of Fechter in both Longsword and Dussack. Requirements - 2 months of previous historical fencing experience, with a focus on longsword.

  • Home Alone Camp (Grades 2+)

    Is your child ready for the independence of being home alone? Parents need to be sure their children have the skills and maturity to handle the responsibility safely. Whether it is for an hour after school or several hours a day during the summer, being trusted to be home alone can be a positive experience for a mature and well-prepared child. This class for children will address several topics relating to being “Home Alone,” including age guidelines, safe habits, house rules, after school routines, phone calls and door knocks, dog emergencies, personal safety, handling the unexpected, gun safety, severe weather, fire safety, intruders and first aid tips. Students attend this class independently and should come prepared with a notebook and pen. Parents are encouraged to review the take-home information and discuss it with their child.
  • Horse Back Riding Single Day Camp

    Kids will learn what it's like to have a horse for a day! Campers get to ride in the indoor and/or outdoor arenas for 40min-50min (no trails), practice how to steer, stop, turn, and walk on their own. They also might make horse treats, do a craft, and play games. And don't forget the time to meet and care for the horses, which is a big part of ownership! Campers are broken into smaller groups based on similar riding experience and age, which is perfect for both new and more experienced riders! Parent/guardian required to drop off and pick up at Boulder Pointe. For ages 6-17 years old. What to bring? long pants, closed-toed shoes, appropriate clothes for weather inside and outside of barn. No Flip Flops. water bottle/drink/snacks and a lunch sunscreen/bug spray and/or hat depending on weather helmets are provided

    A great beginner class! Levels 0 & 1. Ninjas develop strength and agility during these 8 weeklong courses by learning different styles and techniques to master all obstacles! We have warped walls, angled steps, salmon ladders, cliff hangers, tilted ladders; all Ninja inspired obstacles! Increase flexibility, problem-solving, and coordination that can be transferred into ninja levels testing or enhance other athletic performances. Go glamping indoors while being introduced to STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) - build a fort, LED light stick, lip-gloss, fancy slime and more in this fun and fabulously fancy camp. On the last day, we'll have a pajama party and enjoy some fancy s'mores!

    There has been an amazing discovery! Paleontologists have just uncovered a million-year-old dig site that is full of fossils! These fossils include dinosaur bones, imprints, eggs, and more! Your help is needed to excavate these fossils and move them to museums for kids all over the world to learn about. In these lessons, students will learn about engineering, mathematics, dinosaurs and fossils as they work as paleontologists and engineers.

Fun, hands-on activities include building shelters, bridges, making tools like shovels and fishing rods and even a light-up bug!

    Korean Sword (Haidong)

    This program is open to ages 12 years old and up or those with permission from the instructor. It utilizes the sword to help students with personal development and leadership skills. It focuses on patterns, fighting drills and target cutting. It is NOT a sport version such as Kendo or Kumdo.

    Level 1

    Swimmers learn to submerge mouth, nose, and eyes, front and back glides, floating on their front and back for 10 seconds, treading water motions, front crawl with flutter kick, elementary backstroke with flutter kick, and water safety. All skills are encouraged to be done with limited assistance from the teacher. This is a beginner level class for students 6 years old and above, Students must be 6 years old to be in Level 1.

    Level 2

    Swimmers learn to jump from the side of the pool, float on front and back independently, how to use streamline arms to kick independently, front crawl for 15 yards independently, and the basics of elementary backstroke. Students must be 7 years old to be in Level 2.
